Raise your performance with the Low Definition Summoner Rift
Hello everyone. Today I bring you two versions of the Low Definition Summoner Rift. I see a lot of people having problems with FPS/Performance with the new map launched by Riot, therefore I made a way to make your performance and FPS better in game.
Please note that the results vary greatly depending on your computer and graphic cards, there are a lot of factors involved. Each person will gain a different number in FPS/Performance, you need to test to see how will be your experience. The difference can be big or insignificant depending on your specs.
Remember to always use all the settings on VERY LOW. After all, you are trying to boost your performance and that goes against the quality of what you see in the map.
Also, turn off anti-aliasing in the video options and you can try smaller resolutions in full screen as well, depending on your monitor/specs.
Comparison screenshots of the quality of the map in versions:
- First column = no changes/mods. (very low settings)
- Second column = Low Definition SR. (textures are 1/4 size of the original map)
- Third Column = Extreme Low Definition SR. (textures are 1/16 size of the original map)
In most cases, smaller textures can make a small but significant boost in your performance.
This mod uses the DXT1 technology (in all texture files) to provide smaller size and more performance to your game.
Download:
Choose the Low Definition SR if you want to get a small boost at the cost of the quality.
Choose the Extreme Low Definition SR if you want to try a higher boost at cost of very bad quality (the map becomes very ugly).

This mod only contains texture files (dds) and it was tested on Wooxy, but it should work with SIU or other skin installers as well, since it’s a very simple modification.
It’s highly recommended that you backup your League of Legends folder if you are not using Wooxy as the installer.

hey been using your texture for quite sometime now and I’m happy with the results, however while playing the new patch 5.15 with the Extreme Low Definition SR the texture also made most of the in game text expect the chat text all blurry as fuck making it difficult to read them. Help Please

Hey does this still work, cause when I press Install in wooxy the skin doesn’t install and it keeps telling me its uninstalled.

The map was changed again after this mod was released, so it could be a cause. I will try to work on a new version, better than this one, but it will change particles as well. It’s expected to delay some months before it’s fully done and tested.

the map worked well but when minions and monsters spawn they lower the fps pretty much, so if you plz make us a low definition minions and jungle monsters custom skins.

It didn’t work for me.. I used SIU, and it didn’t.. It could be from the patch (5.2), i dont know… It changes the map (showed on the pics), but don’t boost any fps… pls help me..

You can use Wooxy or SIU to install any custom skin.

Yes it’s normal, the map is made to put the environment in low (in order to have more fps).

If you are using Wooxy, just uninstall the skin. If you are using SIU, try to uninstall the skin and see if it’s fixed, if it’s not, you will need to repair your game through the game launcher.

Eh i must use SIU 3,34 because in higher versions i got bug with missing file System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly ‘LOLViewer, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null’ or one of its dependencies. Nie można odnaleźć określonego pliku.

Hello friend , I wonder if you have to re-install again the map , because in version 5.1, the original map was added doors and returned to its original shape without improving FPS.

Yes, Wooxy uses a safe method to install skins, so you need to re-install after each patch from Riot. The good side is that you will never have crashes when Riot patches, and Wooxy installs a previously saved map skin in 2 seconds.

I have problems with SIU. When i try to drag and drop the map skin into SIU, the program tells me that the files in there aren’t lol files. Suggestions?

For problems with SIU, you will have to email the author, which is inside the SIU’s about menu.

Not particularly interested in this.. however I am interested in seeing if you’ll be doing any HD or Ultra HD rifts, or themed rifts such as winter😀

We will do themed maps, however, it’s highly unlikely that we will make a definition higher than the current new Summoner Rift, because the original one is 336 textures 280mb, with textures being 2048×2048 already. It’s just their style that looks blurry and not so defined, but we can make it better with some themes I believe.
In other words, we can make better defined/better resolution map skins, but not higher dimension, that would be 4096×4096 and a simple map could be an entire 1 gigabyte to download, which would be insane

Hey please help me i get this error i would appreciate it if someone could please help me fix this or tell me how to install maps without SIU(manually) i want to download the low definition new SR and i get this error warning there was a problem finding where these files belong in your lol installation …. Please help

Unfortunately, we don’t know any way to install manually. Your best bet would be contacting the SIU author through his email inside the program. Or another option is to wait for Wooxy’s next stages.

Wooxy is currently closed for distribution. We will return to distribute soon. SIU is always open and it is made by LGG.

Does this works on 4.21? I instaled it yesterday on 4.20 and it was wokring, now i patched my client and all textures are white. Does the “fix glitches” button in SIU gonna resolve this problem?

I have non stop framerate drops vs certain champs ( kalista and Karma) and the New Turret lazers give me framerate drops to. Would this download help?

The framerate drops can be certain spells animations, therefore, this mod wouldn’t help in this case. It just gives a small fps boost (not in all cases, depends too much on each computer/specs). Let’s say, using this mod, maybe your framerate drops could improve like instead of falling to 20 fps, maybe it went to 25 fps instead using this mod. Try it only if your fps is very low most of time playing.
